Dr Bax has been a paediatrician for over 40 years. He was one of the pioneers of community paediatrics and brought a scholarly approach to the subject. He has inspired many paediatricians and has developed an active and productive research group.

Martin Bax founded the Arts Magazine ‘Ambit’ while he was in Medical School in 1959. The magazine has now been in existence for 50 years and is a unique UK Arts magazine.
